Transfer to the Hotel Colony. Welcome Cocktail. Accreditation, lodging. Information of the rules of the event to the participants. Training immersion. Inauguration and presentation ceremony: Cuba´s potential as diving destination, presentation of the nautical product in and the potential of the Isle of Youth as a diving destination. Welcome dinner at the restaurant of the Hotel Colony. February 16- Beginning of the competition with two immersions. February 17- Development of the professional activities with two immersion competitions. February 18- Continuation of the professional activities with two immersion competitions. February 19- Selection and delivery to the jury of the contest images. Closing dinner and Award Ceremony. February 20- Return to respective countries. Awards FOTOSUB Colony 2010 will be a digital photography event, 14 prizes will be given. First, Second and Third places will be prized in different categories to compete and an absolute prize for the participant with the maximum points: Absolute Champion of the Event and the best model. The contestant could obtain several prizes, including Absolute Champion. Categories for the contestant: -Fishing (excluding turtles, octopus and squid) -Environment without model (underwater flora and fauna). -Environment with model (the filters with colors, flashlights, slave flash, photos half in the water and half on land will be valid in this category. Macros -The absolute champion will be awarded with “Silver Medusa”, original piece of Cuban arts and crafts highly valued artistic pieces by creator Raul Valladares. Inscriptions -Those interested must be certified with a diving title of the member organizations of the RSTC or CMAS 2 stars, have a valid medical aptitute registry and fill the exoneration of responsibilities document that will be delivered in the accreditation event. -All the participants must commit themselves in respecting the current security norms in the autonomous sports diving and the limitations imposed by the accredited title. -The inscriptions will be carried out individually and will be admitted 45 days before the beginning of the competition. Photography selection and conditions for its use. -Each photographer will select a photo by modality and is responsible of the photograpic selection to present. The maximum time for the deliberation of the images to deliver will be 40 minutes. -The jury´s decision cannot be appealed. If there were any demands over the classification, they should only limit themselves soley to possible mistakes, transcription of the points given or violation of the established regulations. In case of the demand the plaintiff will discreetly approach the President of the Jury. -The selected photographic bank by the competitors will go on to become heritage of the Cuban Tourism Ministry and the FCAS, not having any rights over the rest of the photos that are taken during the development of the competition. The images can be used, recognizing the author, to promote the underwater activities of the destination. -The photographers will maintain the right of the author making use of the event´s images, without lucrative means, in its exhibitions, personal publications and web pages. Organization of immersions -In total a preparation dives will be carried out and 6 competitions. Each participant will have at its disposal a compressed air tank for immersion with a capacity of 12 liters. The tanks will be the same for all participants. -The regulated depth limit is 30 meters and the time of the diving competition for all participants: photographers, models or assistants, is 1 hour 30 minutes. -The participants that requiere some type of diving equipment can rent them at the International Diving Center at the Hotel Colony. You will have 30 minutes to dress before the arrival to the diving point and 15 minutes to prepare yourself to enter the water. -The competition will begin when all the participants are in the water and the judge gives the signal to begin and will conclude when the competitors arrive to the vessel. -During the photography and model competition you can reach the vessel. Only with the presence of the commissary you can change optics, card solve a problem that could have emerged with your photography or diving equipment and return to the water to continue the competition, if there is still enough time left. FOTOSUB Colony 2010 is a event with a competitive character. Its main objective is the selection and presentation of photos of Cuba´s underwater flora and fauna obtained during the days of the competition for the success of the event, the following regulations are established: -Any model of digital camera is admitted as long as they are prepackaged. The organizing committee reserves the right to accept or not the model of the camera. -The photos taken cannot suffer any type of modifications or manipulations that is not supported by and from the prepackaged camera. You can use lighting, filtered or mask equipment. -The photographer as well as the model must dive with SCUBA diving equipment. The gauge, compensation vest and some other equipment, are obligatory. Deep sea diving is not allowed. -During the event you can take a maximum of 250 photographs, the contest only admits the JPG type images -The photographer can photograph in TIF or RAW. For the discharge of the card you can only take images that are in JPEG. Protection of the environment. During the competition the judges will carry out controls, in case of any violation, the violator can be excluded from the competition. The photographer and his or her colaborators must not damage any marine life with the following prohibition: -The manipulation of any species. -Transfer live beings from one place to another. -Intentional contamination. -Create air bubbles in caves to later photograph. -Rip seaweed, black coral, etc. -Capture crabs, shrimps, lobsters or any other species. -Use foreign elements to the marine environment.
